I am a PhD student in economics at the University of Toronto, working on networks and information: how the pattern of who talks to whom shapes what markets know, what they reward, and who gets ahead.
Before Toronto I completed an MA at Columbia, where I wrote a theory of endogenous network formation in information markets under Evan Sadler, and a BA at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, where I mapped the collaboration networks of YouTube creators. The two projects ask one question at different scales: relationships are economic objects, so how do they form, and what do they do?
Hockey is the other laboratory. The NHL is a labor market with decades of complete roster records, and I treat them the way other economists treat census data. The Fabric of the NHL, an interactive map of every teammate relationship in the modern league, is the first public piece of that work.
